Lets Knit

Welcome to my blog, I've wanted to make a blog for a while but hadn't found the time or the inspiration. Today I decided that I wanted to share some of the designs I'm making. This venue seems to be an appropriate one.

I've been busy knitting up a storm lately. Its one of the best ways I've found for dealing with stress. Yes, I've been very busy knitting, so what does that say about my life well.... This knitting frenzy I've been on has been like a snowball just picking up speed and ideas along the way.

In the last couple of months I've become active on ravelry.com and was inspired to join a group called '52 projects in 52 weeks'. I figured I needed to destash and this seemed like a great way to go about it. I also joined a group called 'Squares Squared'. This second group posts a pattern for a square weekly. I've been making these squares and will soon have enough to put them in a blanket.
As part of the group
'Squares Squared' I joined a "Christmas in July" exchange and found that the pattern I wanted wasn't available so I created it. Yes, now I'm a bonafide designer. The dishcloth I created is a candy cane. It will be coming soon to the blog.

A third group I joined is called 'journal blanket' this is where you journal along with making a blanket. It is also making squares. I wanted to make a special blanket for my son and thought this group would help keep me on task and on time. Unfortunately, I haven't found all the squares I want so I'll create them and add them here too.

As ideas from all these groups mixed in my head I decided to make seasonal or theme blankets with my original designs and maybe some other people's as well. I will document this here. The first blanket I will tackle is a "Back to School" Blanket. So sit back relax and enjoy the patterns and photo fun.
